Dear Southern Health-Santé Sud Community,

We need your help.

Health care workers are at the front lines of a very serious pandemic. They promise to do their very best. That is why everyone must also do their part to flatten the curve of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Easter is an important time in the lives of many people in our region who celebrate by attending church services and gathering as families.  In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we urge you to celebrate differently this year…

As directed through Public Order, Manitobans need to stay home if they can. This includes family gatherings.  While many families typically get together for Easter or Passover celebrations, people should not let their guard down by gathering this year.  We all have an important role to play to reduce the health risks by staying at home, not gathering in groups, and maintaining social distancing of 2 metres or more.  Rather, this Easter, let us challenge each other to find innovative ways to connect virtually, while social (physical) distancing.

On behalf of all the front line health care workers who risk their lives for us, let us do our part in reducing the risk of spreading this virus by keeping our distance today, so that we can embrace each other more warmly tomorrow.

We wish everyone a healthy and happy Easter!

Sincerely,

Abe Bergen, Chair

Jane Curtis, Chief Executive Officer
