Property Assessment

Assessment Services is the department responsible for the assessment of all real and personal property in the province, excluding property in the City of Winnipeg.   Properties are assessed at market value in accordance with The Municipal Assessment Act.

Every couple of years the Provincial Assessment Department conducts a province wide reassessment.  The next reassessment will take place in 2022 and be effective for 2023.  The current assessment is based on the market value as of April 1, 2018.  Market value is the most probable selling price of the property. Regular reassessment ensures that property evaluation keeps pace with real estate market conditions and that property taxes are fair.  The values are determined by the assessment branch and are based on market values for the most part with the exception of some types of commercial property, which may be valued by different methods.

The Province of Manitoba Property Search Database provides assessment details for properties within Manitoba.

In accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, personal identifiers are not included.
