Tax Rates

Property Taxes

Each year Town Council goes through the process of finalizing the budget for the next year. Once completed the Financial Report is presented to the public at a Public Hearing. This is when the mill rates for the next year are announced. The mill rates combined with the assessment value of your property are used in determining the amount of tax you will owe.  The Town of Morris Budget presentations are available under the link on the left.

Property Taxes are calculated by multiplying the Mill Rate and your Portioned Assessment.

Portioned Assessment/1000 x Mill Rate = Tax Amount

Under the authority of the Public Schools Act of Manitoba Section 187 and 188, all municipalities are required to collect and remit school taxes on behalf of the school division in their area.
