Notice of Public Hearing
UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE MUNICIPAL ACT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
On the date and at the time and location shown below, a PUBLIC HEARING will be held to receive representations from any person(s) who wish to make them in respect to the following matter:
The TOWN OF MORRIS BY-LAW 08/11 Being the TOWN OF MORRIS DANGEROUS DOG BY-LAW 08/11,
THE DESIGNATION OF TWO (2) DOGS RESIDENT AT 238 MAIN STREET SOUTH IN MORRIS, MANITOBA AS DANGEROUS DOGS, AS PER SUBSECTION 8.1 OF DANGEROUS DOG BYLAW 08-2011.
Hearing Location: North Hall, Morris MultiPlex (with social distancing protocols in place)
Date & Time: September 15th, 2020 @ 6:00 pm
General Intent of Hearing: The Animal Control Officer has brought forward a recommendation that two (2) dogs located at 238 Main Street South, Morris, Manitoba be designated as dangerous dogs as per by-law 08-11. Council is to hear presentations on this matter, with a decision to be provided no later than September 24, 2020
IF THE OWNER DOES NOT ATTEND, THE MATTER WILL BE DEALT WITH IN THEIR ABSENCE AND THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER NOTICE OF THIS PROCEEDING.
Presentation Requirements: Due to social distancing, there will be specific presentation requirements:
Written presentations will be allowed, and must be submitted to cao@townofmorris.ca at or before 5:00 PM on September 14, 2020. Each presentation must clearly state agreement or disagreement with the proposed designation and provide specific justification.
Those who wish to make an in person presentation must register by e-mail to cao@townofmorris.ca at or before 5:00 PM on September 14, 2020. Each registrant must provide their full name, address, or residence, and if they wish to speak for or against the proposed designation.
Public Attendance: This meeting is open to the public. However, to ensure compliance with current Provincial regulations, all who wish to attend and observe are encouraged to register by e-mail to cao@townofmorris.ca
This hearing will be conducted according to Public Hearing rules, as contained in Town Procedural By-Law 03-2019.
